Today's Dying Embers...Eternity's Blaze
The Wind has carried me to the autumn of my life;
Even as falling leaves look down upon faded grass,
I see dying dreams and things never to be done.
Yet there is no bitterness or fear in my descent;
Like autumn’s harvest, I am both grateful and content.
As winter looms near, and the chilling frost threatens,
There is a cabin waiting whose warmth is endless joy;
Constructed with cursed Tree and sacred Blood.
The same Wind keeps the blessed fire burning.
This fire produces no ash but only adoration,
For Him Who is True Life, True Light, True Love.
On fallen earth, dying leaves outlive winter to taste spring.
How much more new creation will rejoice in winter’s death!
There is my hope, my certainty, in the Creator of seasons,
And, the Perfector of seasons for His redeemed.
