Rachel's Promise

Why did Christ have to rise again on the third day?
He died to pay our debt...
He died to save us...
He died to wipe our slate clean...
But what does rising from the dead mean? What does it mean for me?
He could have simply died; forgiving us and saving us.
And then just gone back to heaven and let that be that.....
But He didn't do that...
He rose again;
Was made alive again;
WE were made alive again.
"All of us also lived among them at one time,
gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature
and following its desires and thoughts.
Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath."
Ephesians 2:3
GOD had mercy on us....on me! and by His grace I am saved!.....
ME!-a dirty, selfish, weak being who is not even worthy of eating the crumbs that
fall from God's table! God gave His Son FOR ME and when Christ was raised from the
dead, I was made alive too!
Alive from my sin and my scum.
And God has placed me and all who believe at a place of honor at His table.
It's unfathomable! Incomprehensible!
How can one so dirty, so filthy with sin be loved so deeply by the GOD of the universe???
I can't even wrap my mind around it!
Without HIM I am nothing; I am filthy, selfish, despicable...
But with His rising from the dead I am clean...purified!
My debt has been paid! and I am free from sin!-
This does not mean I don't sin anymore...not at all...I sin each and every day!
But I am not constrained by it! I HAVE A HOPE!
Thank you Lord!! For YOU I will live for it is the least I can do...
